Size 20 regular length plastic snaps are commonly used on lightweight fabric. Ex: clothing, diapers, bibs.
Size 20 extra length plastic snaps are recommended for somewhat thicker/denser material such as double layers of marine vinyl. Ex: snap tabs, key fobs.
What do I need to install these snaps?If you already have a tool to install plastic snaps, the same dies for size 20 plastic snaps will generally work with all of the above shapes.
Exception: Star cap: are ever so slightly larger than regular round size 20 caps. K1 pliers use the largest cap die (labeled T8A and included with the pliers). KX professional handheld press uses the size 24 cap die. All other tools use the same dies as size 20 snaps.

Something to cut a hole through your fabric for grommet placement:
Hole punching dies.
If your material has no stretch, use hole punch dies in the same size
as your grommets. If your material is stretchy, use a smaller hole
punch size since the hole will get stretched out.
Use the cover button dies with your KAM table press or KX professional
handheld press to more easily set fabric to your cover buttons. To use these dies, you will need any of the following:
