KAMsnaps Mark-Down Monday Special to Benefit Gracie's Gowns

What better way to continue to celebrate the season of giving than to honor a small non-profit with a big heart?  Gracie's Gowns is run by fewer than a handful of caring individuals who donate their time, their skills, and often their financial resources to making fun hospital gowns for children with cancer or other terminal illnesses.  The gowns are gifts that bring smiles to these children's faces, and those smiles in turn are gifts to all who love them.

28.5% of proceeds from the sale of this product will be credited to Gracie's Gowns account with us so that they can purchase the snap supplies they need to more easily and quickly create these special gowns.

Today only, 300 select engraved cap pieces are just $3.50.  Normally $9, that's over 60% off.  You choose 3 designs/colors, for a total of 100 pieces per design/color.  Available at: http://www.kamsnaps.com/Plastic-Snaps/Engraved-Snaps/Charity-Mark-Down-Monday-300-Engraved-Cap-Pieces-p350.html

10,740 Snaps Raised for Days for Girls

We'd like to thank everybody who shared and "liked" our Days for Girls snap-raiser on Facebook.  We pledged to donate 20 snaps for every 1 "like" received.  There were 537 likes, which translates to a whopping 10,740 snap sets!  That's almost $500 in snaps!

We are proud that we could help such a wonderful cause in some small way.  To learn more about Days for Girls and the many ways you can get involved, please visit http://www.daysforgirls.org.  In particular, during this month of November, a small donation of $10 will also count as a vote in the Champion for Girls Challenge that will help DFG win $25,000.  Please consider making this small donation here.

Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

Now through Nov 20, KAMsnaps.com will donate 100% of proceeds received from the sale of any and all size 16 engraved KAM plastic snaps to The Community FoodBank of New Jersey. The food bank sends ready-to-eat meals and clean water to shelters in the areas affected by the hurricane. Proceeds collected will be donated in one lump sum no later than Nov 23.

We wish everybody affected by the storm a speedy recovery.

Help KAMsnaps.com Support 2 Great Causes

KAMsnaps.com currently offers 2 awareness ribbon engraved snaps--in yellow and pink. The yellow is to show support of our soldiers, and the pink to support the fight against breast cancer. They're available for purchase at http://www.kamsnaps.com/Plastic-Snaps/Engraved-Snaps/Engraved-Snaps-p121.html

Through the end of 2011, we will donate $5 to either Susan G. Komen for the Cure or The Wounded Warrior Project (or other similar charitable organizations) for every person who makes a qualifying finished project using the engraved ribbon snaps, up to $500. Feel free to send us your suggestion for another organization helping to fight breast cancer or support our soldiers.

We are really interested in seeing how creatively you incorporate these snaps into your project, whether it be a purse, a shirt, or whatever you can think of.

Here are the rules to qualify:
  • Your project must use at least 5 of the engraved ribbon snaps.
  • You must submit at least the following 2 photos of your finished project: one photo showing your project as a whole, and one photo of a close-up of the engraved ribbon snaps on your project. You're of course welcome to send more than just those 2 photos if you'd like. Each photo should be no larger than 600 pixels wide or long. Photos should be clear. Email photos to sales @ kamsnaps.com (remove the spaces).
  • A $5 donation will be made to one of the 2 causes above (or send us your suggestion for other organizations) for every person/household/group that makes a project using the snaps and submits photos of that project. You can submit as many photos of as many projects using the engraved ribbon snaps as you want, but there is a limit of one $5 donation per person/household/group no matter how many projects you make/submit.
  • The same project cannot be submitted by multiple people.
  • KAMsnaps.com may post your photos on our website or other web pages (ie. Facebook, Blogger, Twitter, etc). You may request that we include a link to your site if desired.
  • Rules are subject to change without notice. This is a first for us so we're learning as we go. We don't want to focus on what's not allowed, but there are rules and limitations that we hope are already implied and that we need not have to spell out.
We know that one or both of these causes are dear to many of your hearts. This is our way of showing our support, and we hope you'll have some fun with it in the process.

A Diaper a Day (to Give Away) Spotlight

"It costs about $2.40 to make one diaper, or about $50 per family, assuming the average baby goes through about eight to 12 diapers a day. Consider that most parents spend about $75 a month for disposable diapers, the cost savings is considerable."

This is the basis for Kelly Sangree's A Diaper a Day project. To provide families in need with reusable cloth diapers made from recycled or discounted materials.

When Harrisburg resident Kelly Sangree read a news story about young mothers who couldn’t afford diapers for their children, it struck a raw nerve.

It wasn’t all that long ago Sangree had been in a similar situation, as a young, financially strapped, single mother.

To help make ends meet at the time, she ended up sewing her own cloth diapers out of old T-shirts.

She decided to use those sewing skills to help others with a charity project she calls “A Diaper A Day.”
